New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin likes to use motivational themes for his team. Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger reports for this week's NFC showdown against the 49ers, Coughlin admitted one he'll use: Despite the Giants being the defending Super Bowl champions, many see San Francisco as the class of the NFC. "Nobody gives us a chance to win," Coughlin said. "We’ll see." Asked how he knows no one gives the Giants a chance to win, Coughlin said, "I just sense it. I’m hoping that way." The 49ers and the Giants played twice last season, each team winning one game. The Giants, of course, were the winners in the NFC Championship Game in San Francisco, earning a trip to Super Bowl XLVI. So why does Coughlin think no one gives the 3-2 Giants a chance to win against the 4-1 49ers? "I'm not going there. I’m sorry," he said. "I don’t have an answer for that. Why do I think they feel that way? Probably because they think the other team is playing very well." Source: The Redzone
um, i don't give the giants much of a chance because it's october and not january and 'october' giants are not nearly as good as 'january' giants.
As long as SF doesnt treat the Gmen as they did the Vikes they have a good shot.... afterall the Gmen are banged up. I just better not see any salsa dancing from the boys in blue!
The 49ers defense is just way better than the Giants defense right now. That's where their biggest flaw is IMO. Missing a couple key guys on the offense doesn't help...
it seems to me the Giants always play better when they come into games feeling as underdogs. so I think this is a good thing going into a big game
Not this one I don't think the Giants have the offensive weapons with Nicks still out to beat the San Fran defense.
