A man from Elk Grove, Calif. was stabbed as he was walking to Candlestick Park to watch today's game between the San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants. The 27-year-old man was walking to the stadium with five friends when he was stopped by two men at the southwest side of the stadium -- also, reportedly football fans -- and he was stabbed in the torso after a verbal altercation. According to reports, the man is expected to survive. San Francisco Police Sgt. Michael Andraychak told local media that two men are in custody for the crime. The suspects were described as a 22-year-old male from Daly City and a 30-year-old man from San Francisco. Source: Yahoo! Sports
making it so no one will want to go to games anymore. why can't we just have fun. it is just a freaking game.
Pathetic. This reminds me, why I don't visit soccer games. Those Hooligans/Ultras brought to much violence to the stadiums
my thoughts exactly. that is why I watch games on tv now. used to go to a lot of games but too much beer by too many wannabe jocks and bam! trouble.
well who's to say those morons were going to bring in a weapon, this happened away from the stadium and the stadium parking area...lots of people have so called weapons, seems like they were tailgating when those 6 guys walked by but I'm not excusing the action or anything. I know for years I had a baseball bat with me in the car next to my seat and door of the car...well until I was pulled over once for racing and the freaking cop said it was a weapon and confiscated it, although I did purchase another one 3 days later..hehehe..(I'm a chick so of course the bat was a freaking weapon but if I'm going down I'm bringing someone with me)
Add to that the fact that Candlestick is smack dab in Hunters Point, easily the worst area of SF (Id rather walk around the Tenderloin at 3AM waving hundred dollar bills around than be in Hunters Point at any time of day) and it might have had nothing to do with football at all.
I expect to hear about something like that at a Raiders game, not at the 'Stick'. What the hell is going on out there?!?! That's a damn shame!! :glare:
