The Pro Bowl is on for this season, but NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell indicated Monday that the future of the game remains very much in doubt. Speaking on Sirius XM's "Town Hall Hall with Roger Goodell" on Monday in New York, Goodell indicated that he was "leaning" towards eliminating the game earlier this offseason before players stepped in. That isn't a huge shock considering the tenor of Goodell's words following last season's game. He repeatedly said the game wasn't up to league's standards. Goodell indicated the game needs to get better or it could still get the axe. "The players asked if they could take another crack at it to try to work to get the game more competitive," Goodell said. "Obviously, I support that. But if we can't accomplish that kind of standard, I'm inclined not to play it any more." Source: NFL.com

yep, the PB game should absolutely be eliminated. They should still honor the players but just do skills challenges
Well they've done just about everything they can to make it so players don't want to go/don't give a crap.
Exactly. Skills challenges were always the best part of PB weekend anyway, back when they did that. It's more enjoyable for the fans both in person and at home, and the players arent really risking injury so they can just go out and have fun. Do it a couple weeks after the SB, make a weekend of it (like RB/OL/DL/LB/K on Sat and QB/WR/TE/DB/P on Sun), put some "prizes" up for the winners. Maybe some fan involvement like attending fans all put their name in a hat, draw a fan for each player, and if "your" player wins/places, you win something.
The only thing that's promising is that the league is ready to nix it and aren't the ones forcing it on the players. The Pro Bowl used to be tolerable, but now it's insulting to watch.
