Tampa Bay Buccaneers Pro Bowl guard Carl Nicks will miss the rest of the season because of a toe injury, the team announced Tuesday.

Nicks requires surgery on a torn plantar plate in his left toe. He will be placed on injured reserve.

Nicks had started all seven games for the Buccaneers this season.

The Buccaneers also placed tight end Danny Noble (hamstring) on IR and elevated guard Roger Allen from the practice squad to the active roster.

well, let's see, he was making $12.5 mill this year, that's almost $800k per game so that's $7.2 mill down the drain if he's not playing in the last 9 games.

for that kind of money, cut the freaking toe off and get back out there !!!!!

  3. I never could understand how a huge guy like Carl Nicks or let's say "Shaq" may let their toe take them out for such a long period of time. I do not know what a torn plantar plate is, sounds crappy for sure, but the rest of the season? Damn..
