Hometown rocker Kid Rock will be the featured halftime performer at the Detroit Lions' 73rd annual Thanksgiving Day game against the Houston Texans at Ford Field, the team has announced. Detroit Lions president Tom Lewand, appearing on WXYZ-TV (Channel 7), announce that at the 2012 United Way Thanksgiving halftime show, Rock will perform “Detroit, Michigan,†a song from his new album, “Rebel Soul,†due out Nov. 19, which mentions other hometown greats such as Bob Seger, Marvin Gaye, Eminem and Aretha Franklin. "We couldn't think of a better way of celebrating our 73rd Thanksgiving Day game," Lewand said. A tireless advocate for Detroit, Kid Rock also headlined the 2010 Thanksgiving Day game. I use half time on thanksgiving to load up on food and/or bathroom break and don't pay any attention to the show.
