Eagles players are now starting to see the writing on the wall for coach Andy Reid according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Three veteran Eagles said that Sunday’s 31-6 loss to the Redskins was likely the final nail in the coffin for their head coach. “I know it. I know it,†said one defensive player that requested anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the subject. “And the only reason I’m here is because of Andy. Some vets have been talking about how the next [coach] may want his own guy.†Of the many players sampled, all said that they remained fiercely loyal to Reid. Several, like tackle King Dunlap, said that they believed they still had a chance to turn the season around and save Reid’s job. “In my opinion, he’s the best coach in the NFL,†Dunlap said. “I can’t imagine them getting anyone better to replace him.†Source: The Redzone
Well all of you 'fiercely loyal to Reid' players needed to win games in order for the walrus to keep his job.
Andy done a good job in Philly and we had a lot of goid years. The last two years, things have gone a little stale and it's time to go different ways. There's a lot of talent on the roster and I'd like to see someone with fresh ideas try to take that talent forward. There will be no grudges as Andy gave us a lot of good times but now is definitely the right time to move on. If the Eagles know who they want, then do it asap. Give the new coach 6 games to evaluate the team and see who is worth keeping and who needs to go. The new coach would learn more in those 6 games than any training camps.
Dont think hell be fired until the end of the year im just wondering who will replace him. This year all im looking foward to is watching foles develop and take his bumps
Not so fast. I have a feeling that Vick is coming back soon because his agent is going to want Vick to play so he can latch on to a new team in 2013.
his agent doesent have any control and if reid plays vick that decision alone would make me want him fired on the spot
Vick would be better not playing, as he might actually get a team in 2013. the way he's playing he'd be turning potential suiters right off.
Vick has been terrible for two years now. I dont think he is gonna have much.of a market as a starter He is no more then a backup at this.point.in his career Sent from my HTC Vivid
Really, Reid should offer to step down. He isnt going to be the coach next season and he should give them the chance for a head start on next year.
You're killing me with this crap. lol. You want a college coach with limited experience? Might as well hire Jon Gruden if you want to flush the next 3-5 years down the toilet. At least he has a ring that management can use as an excuse.
Shaw has coached in the NFL. He's coached in the NFL and so far at Stanford has had a bit of success. He runs the Power I which this team could easily adapt to with a full, healthy O-Line next season plus he knows how to work with QB's. He's been a QB coach in the NFL and NCAA. I don't want a Gruden or a Cowher or some other former NFL "great mind" or an up and coming "coordinator." I want someone with HC experience that understands offense. Give Bowles the off season with the D and either keep Marty or hire Norv and there you go.
