As anticipated, Bears quarterback Jay Cutler (concussion) will miss his first game of the season after being ruled out for Week 11 at San Francisco, the Chicago Tribune reports. Jason Campbell will take his spot as the starter for the Bears on Monday night after replacing Cutler for the start of the second half of last Sunday's game against Houston after he sustained a concussion in the second quarter. 49ers have always owned Campbell. His last game vs. us w/ the Raiders was one of the most piss-poor displays of QB play Ive ever seen in the NFL, and thats coming from someone who suffered through seven seasons of Alex Smith.

Yeah, Caleb Hanie who had ZERO NFL starts under his belt when Cutler went down last year. I actually feel pretty confident heading into monday with Jason Campbell. All Campbell has to do is not turn the ball over, manage the game, and lead scoring drives. I know, a lot more easier said then done but thats what must happen on monday for the Bears to win.
I picked the niners to win regardless of who started for the bears. But as people have already said, if you're a bears fan you should feel pretty good about Jason Campbell starting.
normally, i've been a supporter for campbell and have felt that he's been somewhat underrated during his career. however, none of us really know how he is going to perform in the bears system. he may not be a good fit for it. sunday night, it certainly looked like campbell is a large step down from cutler in that system, but that could have just been the texans defense or the fact that he has not played in a while. i think it will be pretty evident what campbell is going to give the bears within the first half of the 49ers game.
One element that was not brought into the mix is Campbell behind the OL. That & the fact that the only real success has been the chemistry between Cutler & Marshall. Now without that extra bit of offense, this D is exposed for it's weaknesses. Now it should be clear what I've been saying all along...
Nobody wasn't as far as I can see. The DL's pressure has been the main reason the secondary hasn't been as exposed as they were in the 9er game. The DL has done a good job for the most part this year but a lot forget the level of teams we were playing. Of course taking in a account that without Cutler, the D was also on the field much more & in worst field position. Just a recipe for disaster all the way around. #1 in the power polls. lol
