If the Philadelphia Eagles fire head coach Andy Reid and the Cowboys decide to part ways with Jason Garrett, a report surfaced Sunday that Reid could be the next Cowboys coach. According to Mark Eckel of the Times of Trenton, an extremely reliable source, who is close to Reid, says the current Eagles coach could be leading the Cowboys next season. “I know a lot of people think Andy is going to San Diego next year, and I can see that happening,†the source told Eckel. “But I keep hearing Dallas. I think he can end up with the Cowboys. As a matter of fact, I think he will end up with the Cowboys, if Jason is fired.†Other teams will obviously be interested in Reid’s services. He’s been Philadelphia’s head coach since 1999, leading the Eagles to a Super Bowl berth and nine playoff appearances. But they’re 3-8 heading into tonight’s game against the Cowboys. Aside from a disastrous finish to the season, it’s unlikely that Garrett would be fired but if that occurred, an unemployed Reid would be an interesting option. “I think Andy would be a good fit with the Cowboys,†the source said. “I feel he would get along fine with (Cowboys owner) Jerry (Jones). It would be the two of them working together, no middle man to get in the way.†Source: Dallas Morning News
Given the year he's had with family issues and the Philly season, he should take a year or two off to get a breather from the game and be a pre game analyst or something. He's a good coach, just going through some bad luck and bad times in Philly right now.
I Can't see him coaching next year if the eagles can him. Despite not having a job, they guy still has to have a crapload of money regardless!
I can see him coaching next year...most of these guys don't like taking the time off. I think he should take. Year off but I think he'd do a great job in Dallas, Cleveland or San Diego.
He is a great coach, his time has just ran out in philly! I Can understand how he was'nt into coaching 100% this year after losing his son.I Hope he does well whereever he ends up,just not against the skins!
It's amazing that coaches like Gruden or Cowher have been able to stay away. Then again they do have cushy desk jobs talking about the game, not actually doing it anymore :icon_cheesygrin:
I think Andy should go to college. He's good at coaching dudes up. Perfect for the college game. And with his track record(mostly) in the NFL, he could probably get some pretty good recruits.
I think that's why Cowher stays away. I hear through other CBS guys that he absolutely lives the gig he is in now...
Andy Reid as an analyst would be as exciting and informative as watching ants crawl up the wall in my house. Honestly, the ants would be more riveting and they'd probably answer questions better. But Andy should take a year or 2 off and then he can be hired as the next, next Cleveland Browns head coach. In regards to Cowher, what isn't to LOVE about his job. He watches tape at home, eats dinner, plays golf, does regular dude stuff and then on the weekend goes to NY and films his show then goes home to do it all over again. And he makes bank. Not a bad gig.
Reid is a very good coach, and will probably have success in his next stop, but he NEEDS to take a year off. I think he is burnt out right now Reid in Dallas in 2014, sign me up Reid in Dallas 2013, please no Sent from my HTC Vivid
I think that reporter in Trenton is just throwing stuff on the wall to see if it would stick. It would be interesting if it happened in 2014. Ironic, too.
the only jobs i think cowher takes is either the one in cleveland or maybe the carolina job! He only takes either if he is named head coach and gm,not just head coach.
