After the Cowboys 38-33 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday night at Cowboys Stadium, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones assessed his team's playoff chances, Jon Mahota of the Dallas Morning News reports. “I’m real hopeful, I’m very hopeful, but I’m realistic,†Jones said. “I’m proud of the team, but we really have to call on everybody and everything to do everything, whether it’s a coach or a player, we have to do everything we can do to get these next four ballgames.†It’s no secret that the Cowboys won a game they were supposed to win. The Eagles had dropped their last seven entering Sunday night. The Cowboys’ last four opponents, the Bengals, Steelers, Saints and Redskins, won’t be nearly as winnable. Those four have a combined 24-23 record. “We ought to take these four games and say, ‘Hey, we’ve got an opportunity here but let’s get in here and dedicate ourselves.’ That’s the way I feel about it,†Jones said. “I’m proud that we have an opportunity.†Source: The Redzone
Mathematically, I guess they still have a chance. However, the Seahawks beating the Bears didn't help them.
well, and let's keep in mind the cowboys have head to head losses against both of the main WC contenders, the Bears and Seahawks. Stranger things have happened but at this point we would have to say it's pretty clear the cowboys are not going to be playing in January
If they don't find a way to fix the defense somehow before they play the Bengals on Sunday, they can kiss the playoffs goodbye.
Well until they change their habits, I have to go with past actions. Would like to be proven wrong but just don't see it with this team.
if they win out, they wont need the skins to stumble.. we have the same record and play them in week 17. Giants schedule is full of stumbles. Why talk about the wildcard when we are only one game back in the division and Giants have Saints, Falcons, Ravens left.
i agree that if they win out, the way they will make the playoffs is via division crown instead of WC. The Giants, Cowboys, and Skins all have tricky games left.
