Jets coach Rex Ryan doesn't think that his future as head coach of the Jets is tied to whether or not he made the right move to start Mark Sanchez this week, Conor Orr of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.

"No, obviously we need to win and this is a big decision and, in determining wins and losses is the play of your quarterback a lot of times," Ryan said. "But no, I don't feel like my future is tied in with how we do things."

"Obviously this is a win business and I know that. If you're a head coach in this league, as Brian Billick told me the other day, there's been 111 head coaches that have come and gone in the last 10 years so it's probably not the most job secure thing. But the one thing that can effect job security is winning.

"If we win I think that decision is a big one in the fact that, that position -- there's two positions in this league where you can lose games fastest: Quarterback and cornerback."

He's not worried because he's gone anyway.

I really question Rex's knowledge of the game sometimes. Even hinting CB is as important in this league as QB is not real bright.

The 2 best pass defenses in this league may be the Steelers and 49ers and neither of them have a shut-down corner but they DO have a pass rush and the coverages/schemes that work in the NFL in 2012.
