Colin Kaepernick threw for 216 yards and four touchdowns as the San Francisco 49ers managed to fend off a late comeback and post a 41-34 victory over the New England Patriots on a cold and rainy Sunday night at Gillette Stadium. Kaepernick completed 14-of-25 passes, fumbled four times and was picked off once, but it was enough for the 49ers (10-3-1), who have won four of their last five games and clinched a playoff berth in the process. Michael Crabtree paced the offense with 107 yards and two scores on seven receptions. Randy Moss and Delanie Walker each had a TD grab, while Frank Gore added 83 yards on 21 carries. Tom Brady completed 36 passes on a career-high 65 attempts for 443 yards and one touchdown, but was intercepted twice as the Patriots (10-4), saw their seven-game win streak come to a halt. Brandon Lloyd and Aaron Hernandez each posted 10 catches, with the former racking up 190 yards and the latter totaling 92 yards and one score. Source: Sports Network

yep, i don't think very many people gave the 49ers much of a chance. and it was a very entertaining game, which we needed after so many blowouts in the afternoon.
So...let me get this stright, they go into green bay and win, go to Minn and lose, they crush the jets and bills, then tie the rams, they walk all over Chicago, handle Miami, lose to the Rams, and then beat the Patriots at home? WWW.WTF.COM/weirdcrap.html
I came out of this game actually feeling pretty good about a super bowl matchup if these teams play. I think it would be very different. I'm really hoping for a rematch.
You felt good about your team getting freaking roflstomped for 3+ quarters and only scoring points once we moved into a super soft prevent in the 4th?
Yea we made tons of uncharacteristic mistakes, a lot because of the weather, and still had a chance to win. The super bowl will be in a dome, and the pats won't make those mistakes. I like our odds in a rematch.
Nonsense. They made mistakes because they were getting beat up and scared. Blame it on the weather if you want, but the team in white wasn't making those mistakes in the same weather. I saw a team thats used to rolling over inferior competition getting exposed for what they are (not as good as the hype) and being beaten like a redheaded stepchild in all aspects of the game for 3+ quarters by a superior team.
Maybe, maybe not. I still want a rematch and I still think the Patriots would win. And did you not watch the first quarter? Both teams were giving the ball up. The niners offense is better suited for that crapty weather too. We all know that played a role. To deny that is dumb. We're not going to agree on this, because we both see it from our teams' side.
i can see what you mean. but i don't think you'll see our qb fumble the snap 5 times either, nor will you be at home in the super bowl, so it goes both ways. I don't think you're likely to see woodhead gash us that way again either
Not to mention Gronk didn't play. You're right though. It does go both ways. All in all, I'd be excited for a rematch.
I would think the Pats would be the best suited for that weather not the 49ers...it doesn't snow in SF
The pats offense is built to pbutt. The niners are built to run. Obviously that favors the niners. Sure the pats are more used to the could, but that doesn't make the ball easier to catch when it's wet.
