Eagles QB Michael Vick mentioned that his time as an Eagle may be coming to an end, but maintains that he still has “a lot of football leftâ€￾ in him, per Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Vick suffered a concussion mid-season and has been benched in favor of rookie QB Nick Foles in what has become a lost season for the team. Vick has played only nine games this season and is set to make $15.5 million next season with $3 million guarantees. The Eagles can avoid incurring a cap hit if they release Vick two days after the Super Bowl.

Vick should be able to draw interest on the free agent market from a quarterback-needy team, given that there aren’t a lot of upgrades available at the position.

Dallas ain't trading Romo and bringing in Vick...no way.

I think Buffalo could be a potential spot...

The world knew Sanchez was bad, people were all over Vick's nuts for no real reason.

Gotta figure Arizona as a whole is worst? Kansas City? Vick, Gabbert, Sanchez, Weeden, Fitzpatrick all contestants for that coveted worst title...

    Arizona?

The man might literally die on the field, as soft as he is.

But the fact remains that he is the immediate starter if he signs with Zona or Buffalo.

I hate Vick, but even I would take him over those awful scrubs. MAYBE Weeden, but he's probably older than Vick.

Uh. If by no real reason you mean in 2010 he killed it and played out of this world, then yes, you're right. No real reason. But Mark Sanchez is his own category of bad.

Vivk played out of his mind until teams figured out how to stop him.

if vick is genuinely still motivated to work hard, i could see him helping a team for a year or 2.

if you look at what the 49ers, redskins, titans, seahawks and others have done recently, they have actually brought in TWO potential starting QB's to compete for the job and give depth and that IS the smart thing to do in today's NFL.

so, all of the teams being discussed would be smart to bring in someone like vick or alex smith AND ALSO draft one very high.

the qb position is just so important, there's no reason NOT to take a chance on bringing in vick if a team feels his heart is still in the game.

you go by the premise that vick is actually a good qb which has been shown over & over to be flawed thinking.

he is what he is - an average at best qb - and will never be better.

i agree. at his absolute best, he is just an 'ok' starting nfl qb. at times, he is really awful. however, i'm under the impression from things that he has said in moments of honesty that his play really drops off when his heart/head are not in the game and i think it's pretty obvious when those times have been (his latter years in atlanta, the last couple of years in philly).

but when his heart and head are motivated (his first couple of years in the league and his first couple of years back in the league after prison), he is an 'ok' starting NFL qb, which is an improvement for many of these teams that don't have a QB at all.

the only question at this point is whether his heart/head will EVER be back in the profession. Personally, i think he's probably burnt out on the whole thing and done.
