NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Thursday that the Cowboys have some interest in Monte Kiffin as defensive coordinator, according to a team source. Hiring Kiffin would be a sign the Cowboys are switching from a 3-4 defense to a 4-3 approach. Kiffin had a long run of success as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' defensive coordinator from 1996 to 2008 before disastrous stints working with his son, Lane, with Tennessee and USC in the college ranks. Monte Kiffin resigned after USC's bowl game last month to pursue opportunities in the NFL. Kiffin is 72 years old and would bring a far different approach to the Cowboys' defense, it has been a 3-4 group since Bill Parcells arrived in 2003, and some of Dallas' best talent (Sean Lee, DeMarcus Ware, Bruce Carter) really fit to a 3-4 approach. I thought he was a 3-4 guy. Seems I was wrong. But he is a very good DC and they have some talent there. He could succeed.

I Think morris signed a two year deal with the skins,and the only way the cowboys can sign him is by offering him a better job and more money. i can't see them making him DC when kiffin will be that can you?

Per @Edwerderespn, the Dallas Cowboys have reached agreement with Monte Kiffin to become their defensive coordinator.
Just saw it on tv,and he also said the cowboys are gonna be changing their defensive scheme,and ware is gonna switch to DE.
