Patriots quarterback Tom Brady threw for 344 yards and three touchdowns Sunday afternoon, leading New England to scores on three of its first four possessions of the second half for a 41-28 win in an AFC divisional playoff at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mbutt. The Texans, who through 12 games had the best record in the AFC but struggled during the final month of the regular season to lose home-field advantage in the playoffs, lost on the road for a second consecutive year in the divisional round to finish the season at 13-5. New England will host the Baltimore Ravens for the AFC title next Sunday, with the winner advancing to play the San Francisco-Atlanta winner in Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans. Two of Brady’s touchdown passes went to running back Shane Vereen, who had five catches for 83 yards and also ran for 41 yards and a score. Texans quarterback Matt Schaub completed 34 of 51 for 343 yards, and running back Arian Foster carried 22 times for 90 yards and a score and caught seven passes for 63 yards and a TD. Brady is a BEAST. I love this man. In the Brady-Manning convo, Brady wins and I think this proves it.
well, this was the least interesting of all of the games this weekend but, really, after how good the previous games were, we didn't need another one ............ in fact, where i was at, we were talking about the ravens, 49ers and falcons games during the pats game so it didn't bother us that the game was a snoozer.
Assuming the Niners beat the Falcons, there's some potentially fun Super Bowl storylines with either of the AFC teams. Harbaugh vs. Harbaugh (The Harbowl) would be pretty neat if it's Ravens/Niners obviously, and the greatest recent dynasty led by the greatest qb of his generation, who is from the Bay Area and grew up as a 49er fan, versus a young resurgent 49er team that grew out of the ashes of the last great NFL dynasty before the Pats is pretty cool as well.
This seems to boil down to Brady's ability to adapt. It seems like you could throw any wr in there and they still have a great passing game. Mmmmm maybe no with ocho cinco...
