Bruce Arians is the new head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, according to multiple reports. The Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator accepted a four-year contract with the Cardinals holding an option for a fifth year, according to ESPN.com. Attempts to reach Arians were unsuccessful. Arians, 60, met with Arizona president Michael Bidwill and vice president of player personnal Steve Keim Wednesday and again today. After meeting with the team, Arians told the media he had a “very good feeling’’ about getting the position. Source: Indianapolis Star
He'd been better off, IMO, staying with the Colts and taking a gig next year with a team that might have had a better chance to succeed.
BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: Cards have announced that unfortunately their helmet decals have somehow have fallen off one side of all the helmets. On a positive note, they've decided to keep it that way.
maybe arians figured if he was ever going to get a chance to get an h.c. gig, he needed to go ahead and take it ......... especially at his age
Not if Luck keeps progressing and bring them to the playoffs I'm telling you 1 more year there and he would've gotten an even fatter deal in a better place, maybe even Philly after their head coach is outta there.
I thought the same, but he's got Andrew Luck. His chances at digressing and missing out on the HC opportunity are much slimmer with the Colts and Luck than the average team...if that makes sense.
This^^^ He's coming to AZ with no offensive line, a total mess at the QB position (thanks Whiz) and a team that's $1 million over the cap. Personally I'm shocked that he took the position, but as the Captain alluded to, he's sixty and this just might be the ONLY opportunity he ever gets. Of course I hope he pulls off the ultimate miracle, but realistically I think he just signed a contract where the expectations are far greater than what he will be able to deliver.
