Chip Kelly is apparently getting right to work in putting together a coaching staff in Philadelphia. His first target is University of Georgia defensive coordinator Todd Grantham, a league source told Comcast SportsNet's Derrick Gunn. With Grantham at the helm, the Bulldogs finished 18th in the nation in scoring defense, giving up an average of 19.6 points per game. Source: Philly.com
Why would you not go after a pro coach? he is gonna learn that this is the nfl, which means not for long when you get outcoached on a weekly basis!
He was a pro coach at Dallas and many others 1999 - 2009 as an assistant Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
he was a DC for Browns for 3 years. He helped their pass defense immensely, he also did good things for Houston while the Dline coach there. Check out the link Just look up Todd_Grantham on wiki
Lovie is a big name, doesn't mean he is big DC. IMO a better HC then DC. I was never blown away by him as a DC in St. Louis Sent from my HTC Vivid
The browns ranked 11th in overall defense his first year as DC ... then 27th & 30th. About the same in points allowed. Not impressive.
During Grantham's 2 seasons with Dallas, the Cowboys improved from 13th (2007) to 2nd (2009) in the league in points allowed.
