Wearing Eagles garb at this morning's Senior Bowl weigh-in and sitting with the Birds' scouts was Josh Gibson, Oregon's former assistant director of football operations.

Reports from Oregon over the weekend indicated Gibson was being hired by the Eagles in an unspecified capacity.

In the summer of 2011, Gibson was implicated as a key figure in an NCAA investigation that could result in sanctions against the Ducks. Gibson was the main contact at Oregon for Will Lyles, a Houston-based "recruiting consultant" who was paid $25,000 for "information" that reportedly did not meet NCAA standards. The implication has been that Lyles was paid to steer players to Oregon.

I could honestly care less about all the NCAA crap at this point. Every school does things that are a bit sketchy. Some more so than others but who gives a heck at this point. Either punish everyone or shut the heck up.

I understand that U of O people have to deal with it and that sucks but like I said, I wish the NCAA would crack down on everyone instead of big programs with butt hurt whistle blowers. Make the rules more strict. They're WAY too gray IMO.

I hear u but the ncaa is a joke. We all know it. Look how coaches can leave thier programs before a bowl game to take another job.

Personally i dont care what recruiting rules these guys broke as long as they help bring a parade here.
