The NFL's conference championship game television viewership is down from last season. Three of the four teams were the same in 2013 from a year ago but last season's AFC championship between New England and Baltimore came down to the final seconds of regulation, and the NFC championship between the Giants and 49ers went to overtime. The Ravens pulled away from the Patriots in the fourth quarter Sunday in their rematch, while San Francisco's win over Atlanta was decided in the final minutes. The 2012 AFC championship on CBS in the early slot drew 48.7 million viewers; Sunday's game had 47.7 million viewers in the late slot. Last year's NFC title game on Fox was watched by 57.6 million people in the late slot, while this season's was seen by 42 million in the early slot. Source: Pro Football Weekly
This wouldn't have happened if the Cowboys were playing. People love to watch train wrecks. Just sayin'.
If the cowboys were in the NFC championship game they wouldn't be a train wreck. And the ratings would be up because they're a very popular team. Just sayin.
Cowboys are America's Team so any time they are in the playoffs or in prime time Sunday or MNF games then yeah maybe ratings are higher. It's all Jerry Jones propaganda lol. They WERE America's Team back in the day when they actually won Super Bowls. Then again who am I to talk I root for the Bears...
Even the non Dallas fan romo basher is more positive about the cowboys than the actual Dallas fan Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
I try to tell people i'm not a blind Romo hater I just calls em like I sees em. Lol. I always try to be objective when it comes to football. And there's no denying how popular the cowboys are.
Thing is people not saying you go out of their way to bash on Tony. Yet make excuses for others. Today on sports radio there were talking about Matty Ice still being elite even though they lost yet he threw an Int and fumbled the ball at a crucial moment. If that would have been romo they'd be all up his butt about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
well, but the nfc game had the late slot last year and the early slot this year and the early slot almost always gets lower ratings. in addition, both games were down considerably. i don't think the new york thing made that much difference. comparing time slot to time slot, viewership went down 7 mill and 10 mill respectively, which is around 15% for each slot. that's quite a large number. if a company's revenue goes down that much in 1 year, typically many people are getting fired. I've been mentioning for a while that this year was basically a duplication of last year and that the league was in danger of becoming stale. this league really needs the next generation of teams/players to step up to give the league a facelift.
