The Darrelle Revis hot-stove talk is just getting fired up and according to ESPN New York, one source gathered from talking to New York Jets owner Woody Johnson that the three-time first-team All-Pro is "gone."

The clamor surrounding Revis possibilities is already drawing comparisons to the free agency sweepstakes involving Reggie White in 1993 and Peyton Manning last offseason. One general manager tells CBSSports.com that the interest in Revis could result in "one of the biggest potential trade markets for a player ever."

Added a second general manager, "There's a Revis gold rush forming."

The Jets are reportedly seeking an exorbitant package including first- and second-round picks. While that's shooting for the moon on a player coming off ACL surgery and entering the final year of his contract, there is no shortage of potential trade partners. The New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills, Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers are said to be among the teams "highly interested" in Revis.

I think any team should be in the market for Revis and should find room for him on their roster. Of they are not, of question their management.

A lot of this depends on what kind of deal Revis is willing to sign. If he thinks he's worth $16m a year, and is going to stick on that, the gold rush won't be quite as strong.

Exactly for the kind of money he is asking for, coming off an acl tear, you could sign 3-4 very good football players.

and he is coming off an acl tear.He is good, but not worth a first round pick and a second round pick! Any gm that does that is a flat out idiot!

If he passes a physical and the team doctors (plus) will look at him, he'll be worth a first round pick and more.

i think many of you are underestimating the value of a shutdown corner. if revis is healthy and will work for a reasonable amount of money, he is EASILY worth a first round pick. think about how many CB's will be selected in the first round this season. Why not get a PROVEN commodity instead of an unknown.

this is a no-brainer if revis is healthy, will work for a fair contract, and the team uses him properly.
