Seven weeks after the deadly school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, the school's chorus will sing before Super Bowl XLVII. The Sandy Hook Elementary School chorus will sing "American the Beautiful" before Super Bowl XLVII this Sunday. CBS will televise the performance during their pregame coverage. Sandy Hook Elementary was the scene of the December 14 shooting in which 20 first graders and six adults were killed. i was coming into this thread to make a similar comment. i understand that everyone is trying to do this to honor the victims and survivors. however, a part of me thinks that getting the kids' lives back to normal should be priority #1 , not stressing them out with continuing media attention. in addition, the more attention we bring to these events as a society, i believe, fuels more and more attacks. isn't part of what fuels these people is the attention that they know their 'cause' and name will get after the massacre and their personal death? a martyr can't be a martyr if they don't get the attention.
