Colin Kaepernick, making just his 10th NFL start, helped rally the 49ers from a 22-point third-quarter deficit. But three high throws are what he'll remember most from the 49ers' 34-31 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday at the Superdome, Matt Maiocco of CSN Bayarea reports.

Kaepernick completed 16 of 28 passes for 302 yards -- his first 300-yard passing game as a professional -- with one touchdown and one interception. He also rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown on seven attempts.

"I feel like I made too many mistakes for us to win," Kaepernick said.

When asked about Kaepernick's performance, Harbaugh said, "I think he was making some good throws the entire game. There was one that got a little high. Again, in my opinion, that series should have continued."

"Things weren't working in the first half," Kaepernick said. "We just didn't finish our drives. We turned the ball over a couple times. That was the difference in the game."

"Colin was cool the entire game," left tackle Joe Staley said. "Colin was the same he's been the whole entire season. He's never shown any hints of being rattled, any hints of being uncomfortable on the football field. He showed that exact character today.

"Our future is very bright with Colin."

i hope he isn't going to be too hard on himself. in general, he played well. the 1 int where he just lost control of the ball or something was obviously bad but for such a young guy, he played well.

I think you're going to see a SUPER PISSED OFF Kaepernick next year. That's going to be scary for opposing teams

He didn't lose control, he tried to throw too hard. He needs to work on that.

the ball he threw on the pick was awful

the fade balls he threw in the redzone is a prime example of inexperience

He played damn well IMO, especially when they were down big. He showed a lot of poise

Last night was what, his tenth game as starting QB? He did awesome for having that little of experience. Some throws he made were money.

Inexperience showed towards the end...but he'll learn from it and get better. I like the kid.

Yea he looked really good for the most part. I remember one throw he made to Vernon Davis(I think) on the left sideline. Put it perfectly on his hands right over the defender. He has a great arm and he'll only get better when he learns how to really use it.

Take any other QB in the league...Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Roethlisberger...QBs in the history...Montana, Young...where were they their 10th game?

I Think all the other qbs other than big ben were not at 500,but big ben had 1 or two losses by then which was pretty impressive. montana would 3 games his 1st season and young played in tampa,so he probably had not won many games. Kaepernick really is a rookie when ya look at it,and all rookies make mistakes.he only had 1 real bad game all year, not counting seattle cause they walked into a buzz saw that night.
I Thought the pick in the 1st half was the worst play he had all night, and considering they were losing by 22 and he had over 300 yards passing, had the 49ers won,he would have been mvp.

Ben went 13-0 in the regular season...14-1* including playoffs...that loss was to a cheating Patriots team...
