Percy Harvin's relationship with the Minnesota Vikings already is on shaky ground -- and it could get worse soon. Pro Football Talk reported Monday that Harvin is expected to "stay away" from offseason workouts and training camp if the Vikings don't give him a contract extension. Harvin is scheduled to make $2.9 million in the final year of his rookie contract. Harvin knows his value, and he's well aware Vincent Jackson -- the top wide receiver on the market last offseason -- signed a five-year, $55.5 million deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last March. It was reported Sunday that the Vikings were planning to actively shop Harvin, who has clashed with coach Leslie Frazier and others since becoming the team's first-round draft pick in 2009. well, this coupled with his 'behavior' issues is probably going to seal his fate in minnesota. if someone can get a long-term deal worked out with the agent prior to a trade, he may be worth something decent.
He's not really all that great in the scheme of things. He's good on kick returns, but as a receiver, he's really nothing "super-special." I read somewhere that his production per catch has progressively decreased and I believe he's only averaging 5TDs a year? Nothing to write home about.
This was reported two months ago and is NOT official, same as the whole "blow up" with Frazier so none if this is set in stone even though I still think the Vikings will get rid of him.
75 1/3 yards per game through 9 works out to 1203 over a season...pretty freaking good with Ponder throwing the ball. Crap he almost got a 1000 two years ago as well with McSlab and Ponder, but regardless looking at his stats isnt the best way to evaluate him. Watch him play and dudes a beast, lines up everywhere, a threat with out of the backfield or lined up wide.
it's being reported that harvin is seeking megatron/fitzgerald money ............ now, he's just delusional. no way is he worth $15 mill/yr long-term right now. he's had trouble staying healthy and is not a top 3 receiver.
jason cole is reporting that harvin almost held out last season after aaron hernandez got his contract.
