Buccaneers defensive end Da'Quan Bowers was arrested at New York's LaGuardia Airport on Monday for carrying a loaded handgun in his carry-on luggage, according to an NBC News report. The report, citing spokesman from the New York Port Authority and Queens District Attorney's office, said Bowers was arrested at a check-in counter after a loaded .40 caliber firearm was found in his carry-on bag. Bowers was about to board a US Airways flight to Raleigh, N.C., when he was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and was scheduled to appear in court Monday evening, the report said. A Bucs spokesman said the team was drafting a comment on the matter that it would issue shortly. Bowers, a product of Clemson University, was the Bucs' second-round selection in the 2011 draft.
