The NFL is working on an overhaul to its league calendar that would push the NFL Draft to early May, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Thursday. Under the plan, the start of free agency would shift to early April and the annual Scouting Combine would take place in early March, also, the league's 32 teams would begin training camp on the same day, which would produce an official start to the season. According to Schefter, the NFL wants to keep fans' attention over a longer period and use the events to produce additional revenue. The league met Thursday night at the Combine in Indianapolis to discuss the plan, Schefter wrote. Any changes in the league calendar need to be approved by the players association, according to Schefter. Source: Sporting News
tinker tinker. even though it is only a couple of weeks later it is getting a bit too much to be changing right now. Doing too much too soon. It would give less time to sign draft picks before training camp I would think. Why move it to a new day? Why not bring back the 17 round draft. Now that was a tedious boring draft.
Well this would allow some guys more time to heal so they can participate in the combine. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using Tapatalk 2
