Reduced to a role player last season, Randy Moss still made it to a Super Bowl with the San Francisco 49ers but if the team returns to the game's biggest stage next season, the wide receiver isn't likely to join them. A league source told ProFootballTalk that 49ers personnel made it clear at last week's NFL Scouting Combine that Moss won't be back in San Francisco next season. It can't be called a surprise after the 36-year-old Moss totaled just 28 receptions all season. Absent from his game were the speed, power and elusive feet that terrorized defenses during his 14 seasons in the league. If it is, indeed, the end, we're sure to see Moss again on some August day in Canton. Source: NFL.com
it has nothing to do with opening his mouth. he is only a couple catches a game guy now. he wasnt the deep threat the niners thought he could be. he said one thing all year and there was nothing wrong with it. all competitive people strive to be the best. he had a hell of a career. im glad he was on the niners this past year. he went out a class act instead of the titians and raiders way.
I'm glad for the knowledge he passed on to all the other receivers and while I thought he could've given better effort in the SB, he mostly played his role well throughout the year. All the best to Randy in his next endeavor. Time for one of the young guns to step up.
