Randy Moss, who became one of the most respected leaders on the 49ers during his one season with the team, indicated Saturday on Twitter that he will not be returning to the team for a second season, Matt Maiocco of CSN Bayarea reports.

"Wished we could've finished the job!!thanks for the opportunity an good luck in the future 9ers," Moss wrote.

Earlier on Saturday, Pro Football Talk reported that the 49ers made it clear at the NFL scouting combine that their intention was to "steer clear" of Moss in 2013.

Donnie "Blue" Jones, Moss' right-hand man in his hometown of Rand, W.V., asked CSNBayArea.com to "let the fans know that Moss really enjoyed them and that he embraced them."

Moss, a 14th-year pro, caught 28 passes for 434 yards and three touchdowns during the regular season with the 49ers. Moss caught two passes for 41 yards in the 49ers' 34-31 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII.

not sure of his financial situation but he could be wanting to play as long as someone is willing to pay him .......... he may have pissed away the bulk of the money he made during his career and needs to make some more.
