Female Kicker Injured At NFL Regional Combine During Kickoff Drills

Lauren Silberman, the first female to participate in an NFL regional combine, is being evaluated by league trainers after her first two attempts at a kickoff.

Standing at the 35-yard line, Silberman's first kick inched cross midfield to the 49 while the second attempt did not make it as far, resting around the opposite 49.

Throughout the afternoon, she did not appear to attempt a single warmup kick.

With more than 60 fellow prospects, a few scouts and combine personnel looking on here at the Jets facility in Florham Park, Silberman then asked to see a trainer.

It is unclear whether or not she will try again or participate in the second portion of the kicker workout, which consists of field goals from five different spots.

That 16 yards is practice for kicking a beer from the kitchen to the couch.

I was actually hoping this was something more than a publicity stunt. Had she ever kicked a football before in her life? Can anyone just show up to one of these regional combines and get a shot?

 

c'mon, this is ridiculous. someone dared her to do this obviously. this is a prank.
