Former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback William Gay is set for a return to the Steel City. Gay, who was released by the Arizona Cardinals on Friday in a salary-cap move, signed with the Steelers on Monday, according to his agent, Jerrold Colton. Colton tweeted that Gay "had other options," but that his "heart is with Steeler Nation." The Steelers selected Gay in the fifth round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He started in 2009 and in 2011 before signing a free-agent contract with the Cardinals last offseason. Gay started 15 games for the Cardinals in 2012. If they don't resign Lewis and Allen stays on the outside, I'd be ok with that. If they do resign Lewis and we have Ike,Lewis,Alllen, and Gay... Well that's awesome.
I wouldn't mind Allen on the outside. Some think he's better than Lewis. However this signing, to me, reeks of the front office signing Gay as competition to start...which is a no go.
