Matt Cassel is officially on borrowed time with the Kansas City Chiefs. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported the Chiefs are actively trying to trade the quarterback, according to sources informed of the team's plans. Mr. RapSheet listed the Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers as interested parties, but if the Chiefs can't swing a deal, the team will release Cassel, who started 47 games over the past four seasons in Kansas City. None of this comes as a surprise, the writing was on the wall as soon as Andy Reid swapped a pair of draft picks to the San Francisco 49ers for Alex Smith. On Tuesday the team added Chase Daniel as Smith's backup, leaving Cassel floating in the wilderness. Source: NFL.com
Yeah but as a backup wouldn't someone want him on a new contract? Makes more sense to pick him up after release, I really don't know if he has much value. Ill start the bidding with a pair of New Balance shoes I bought in 2005.
Hoyer's second round tender makes more sense than signing this wasteoid. We've got 4 already, thank you.
