The Chicago Bears are parting ways with veteran linebacker Brian Urlacher after 13 years. General manager Phil Emery said Wednesday that the team couldn't agree on a contract with Urlacher, for years the heart and face of the franchise. He is now a free agent after missing the last four games of the season with a hamstring injury. The eight-time Pro Bowler started 180 games from 2000 through 2012, recording a team-record 1,779 tackles. The ninth overall selection in the 2000 draft has 41.5 sacks, 22 interceptions, 16 fumble recoveries and 11 forced fumbles. He was the AP's defensive player of the year in 2005. That's a name that's hard to picture in a different uniform but For some reason, I feel like he'd look good in a Broncos Uniform...lol.
He'll never look this good in his own jersey. Regardless of the team. Seriously though I think he'll retire. I just can't see him playing anywhere else, and I don't think he really wants to.
Sucks but the writing was on the wall. Too bad when players like Urlacher and Reed switch teams but if it can happen to Rice and Montana, oh well.
Did anyone hear his comments? He really has lost a lot of the respect i had for him in the last few years. Dude really has no class at all. The bears offered hima1 year contract to stay at low money and he bashed the organization that made him a rich man.
Yea he's sounding very bitter. He's made quite a few comments over the last year or do that have made me question his attitude.
True but as a Bears fan, it's hard to see an icon leave. Then again it's business and like I said before it Rice and Montana can wear different unis then it's no surprise to see Urlacher not in Chicago.
