Charles Woodson isn't trying to snow anyone. The 36-year-old defensive back says he's not drawing any interest, that teams consider him “ancient.†"Nothing right now. Nothing substantial," Woodson said Friday on NFL Network. "I'm just waiting around. We put feelers out there just to see where everybody's at. There's not much right now. "I haven't heard anything from Baltimore [which lost safety Ed Reed to Houston] or anybody else for that matter," Woodson said later. The Packers cut Woodson in February after a seven-year run that included an NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award and a Super Bowl title. The future Hall of Famer, who played only seven games last season due to a broken collarbone, spent his first eight years in Oakland. Woodson, who turns 37 in October, visited the 49ers last month but left without a contract, despite receiving no other nibbles, Woodson believes he'll play this fall. "I went through this before in 2006 when nobody was interested in me coming out of Oakland," he said. "I'm in the same situation now. Just have to have a little patience. I'll land somewhere and help somebody win." Source: CBSSports
This isn't exactly how you should be playing the game, Charles. You want everybody to think you are in high demand, not an afterthought.
At this point I think "everyone" knows his position, he's being realistic. Once players start getting hurt he'll find a job, and he knows it.
Antoine Winfield is taking the same route and its smarter than jumping at something for the sake of jumping at something now...
