Rob Gronkowski could need yet another surgery on his injured forearm, which he broke twice last season, says the Boston Herald.

According to the report, Gronkowski has had an infection that has set up in the forearm around the area where he had a metal plate inserted into to help with the healing.

Doctors treating Gronkowski will have to remove the current plate and insert a new one, but if they find more infected tissue, they would have to wait about installing the new plate. That would require another surgery after the infected tissue has cleared up and would likely keep Gronkowski out of the Patriots season opener, because it would need 10 weeks to heal.
