Derrick Rose isn't ready to give up on the idea of playing this season just yet. Rose left open the possibility that he would return when asked if he wouldn't play this season. "Oh no," Rose said Sunday before the Chicago Bulls' shootaround. "I'm keeping it open." With just six regular-season games remaining, there has been lots of speculation from fans and media wondering if the Bulls and Rose would be better served to shut down the former MVP for the rest of the season. Rose has said repeatedly that he will be the one who make the ultimate decision regarding his status. "I'm not trying to think about that right now," Rose said. "I'm just trying to get better. I'm just trying to help my teammates, give them confidence to go out there and play hard, and just be a great teammate. Source: ESPN Chicago
The Bulls have already clinched a playoff spot so unless Rose and the organization are absolutely sure he's ready, why bother bringing him back in the regular season with just 6 games left? If he's going to play this year it would most likely be in the playoffs, then again there are pros and cons with making a first start of the year in the playoffs.
At this point the only way he should step foot is if he's 100%. Can you imagine him re-injuring the knee in the playoffs? People would be jumping off buildings in Chicago.
Agreed so maybe if Rose is 100% ready to come back, then he should do so prior to the playoffs to get in game shape.
Rose has been cleared to play physically for weeks. Supposedly, the people close to him are telling him to keep sitting because the bulls don't stand a chance against the heat so its not worth the risk
Yea his brother came out a couple months ago ripping the bulls for not putting guys around Derrick to win. Ever since then it's been constant reports about his status and why he isn't playing. It's brutal listening to Chicago radio.
