Free agent QB and monumental draft bust JaMarcus Russell has cancelled his April10 Pro Day-style workout according to Vic Tafur of sfgate.com. Russell has reportedly decided that he would prefer to work out for teams individually. Our guess is that Raider fans and the rest of the NFL don't care. The 27-year-old Russell has been working out with longtime NFL quarterback Jeff Garcia in hopes of making a comeback. He is trying to improve and refine his passing skills and get his weight down around 260 pounds. The massive Russell weighed in at 310 when his comeback attempt began and most observers still peg is current weight in the 290 range. Source: The Redzone
he realized that a buddy of his was cooking up several slabs of ribs that day so he had to cancel the workout.
LOL. This just means 0 teams will now give you a look when if you held a pro day style workout maybe one team would be like heck it and go and check you out.
Something must have happened because the pro day was in two days. I wonder how many teams were going to go and watch him work out anyways.
Jeff Garcia??? He picks Jeff Garcia of all mother heckers? Could the two QBs be ANY MORE DIFFERENT? Aside from the fact that neither should ever be offered another gig in the NFL.
In all fairness, Garcia's work ethic was remarkable and at his current age he still has some athletic ability to teach JaWalrus how to get it done. But yeah, the bust is done.
