Over the last several weeks the Kansas City Chiefs reportedly have sought multiple draft picks for Branden Albert, a dependable left tackle and former first-round pick.

Albert, who signed a $9.8 million franchise tag late last month, has publicly criticized the Chiefs for dragging their feet as he looks to secure a long-term contract. Now less than two weeks before the NFL Draft, Kansas City has reportedly lowered its price tag for Albert. On Monday, Peter King of Sports Illustrated reported that the Chiefs would be willing to trade Albert for a second-round pick.

Albert's high salary cap figure could dissuade teams with a need for a bookend tackle from surrendering a top-60 pick, at the same time, the rookie salary cap has also made it more enticing for teams to pursue a left tackle early in the draft.

Imagine the hilarity if we had a glaring need at T.

"Oh yeah, we'll give your 2nd rounder back for that quality LT".

Basically Alex Smith for Branden Albert and a 2nd rounder in 2014.

So lets trade a top 10 lt and replace him with an unproven rookie with the first round draft pick, because tackles win super bowls ONLY the Chiefs do this stupid chit---I am beginning to see why fantasy football is popular Dare I say I AM beginning to HATE my Chiefs!

I honestly wouldn't want Albert at LT for what its going to cost. He is a good, but not dominant LT. He really should be playing the right side. Honestly I think Joeckle, Fischer, and even Johnson will be better LTs by the regular season
