The Packers announced this afternoon that they have signed quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a contract extension, one that has made him the highest-paid player in the NFL. Rodgers was under contract through 2014, but his contract was well below market value as a former MVP and Super Bowl champion. “Aaron is a true professional and a special player,†Green Bay general manager Ted Thompson said in a statement. “He works hard, is humble, and is focused on his actions, on and off the field. He is an excellent teammate and pushes himself and others to be the very best. We are happy to reach an agreement to extend his career with the Packers.†According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the contract is worth $110 million over five seasons. The annual average of $22 million puts Rodgers at the top of the NFL's pay scale. Source: National Football Post
Well, at least he deserves it... he does more than airing it out and in hopes that Torrey Smith or Boldin catch pry it away from the DBs.
