Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose reiterated Wednesday night there is a chance he will sit out the entire season as he recovers from surgery to fix a torn ACL in his left knee.

Rose said he isn't sure when he'll return to the floor.

"I really don't know," he said. "I'm feeling good, but like I said, if it's where it's taking me a long time and I'm still not feeling right, I don't mind missing this year."

Rose said he would like to play this season but isn't sure if his body will heal in time.

"I would love to," he said. "I would love to. That's why I approached my rehab and my workout so hard. I'm trying to get back on the court as quickly as possible, but if I have anything lingering on, it's no point."

Rose's told USA Today Sports on Monday afternoon that he was still "far away" from returning and wouldn't come back until he was "110 percent." Rose did acknowledge late Wednesday night the decision to play is his and he would listen to his inner circle of trusted associates and Bulls' personnel.

no. he has constantly been injured since entering the nba and doesn't seem to heal very quickly.

i also do not like his comment, "I don't mind missing this year."......... what the heck does that mean? is he just enjoying being a new father so much that he's not really interested in working that hard to get back to full health?

i don't think this guy has 'it'. he's obviously an incredible talent but he's constantly injured/dinged up and i wonder about his motivation.

now, supposedly, rose has been physically cleared to play a while ago but he is choosing not to because he doesn't think he's 'mentally' ready.

with the weirdness of this situation, if/when Rose comes back, he better hope he is better than ever or people are going to turn on him for dragging his feet on returning.

with luol deng in the hospital, kirk heinrich injured, nate robinson sick and vomiting during game 7, and joakim noah hobbling on a bad foot, the bulls still managed to win their first round series.

and there sits derrick rose watching all of this with a completely healthy body but not playing because he's just not 'mentally' 100% ready ................. i'm glad the remaining bulls players pulled this series out, fighting through all of their injuries and illnesses ............ and it would have been appropriate if, after they won the game, they all walked off the court flipping derrick rose the finger. i would have laughed my butt off.

i'm really not sure how the rest of these guys can have any respect for rose at this point

So true captain. If I was his teammate I would have lost respect a long time ago. This bulls team is the toughest group of guys in the NBA. Rose really is on the worst possible team for him to be acting like a little snitch.

I get it that he is scared, but you have to at least try, he has teammates getting spinal taps so they can play and he can't even play limited minutes to give a moral boost?
