Former Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Jimmy Smith recently began serving a six-year prison sentence in a Mississippi correctional facility due to drug and gun convictions, reports ProFootballTalk.com.

Smith was sentenced to four years in prison for felony cocaine posession and two years in prison for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. He is not scheduled for release until 2018.

Smith, one of the greatest players in Jaguars history, had issues with drunken driving and was once suspended by the league for four games for a failed drug test,

After football, his problems have severely worsened.
