Cowboys OT Doug Free agreed to a new contract, according to Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas, a two-year deal that will allow him to remain with the club. Free’s salary cap figure for this season was to be $10.02 million and he was supposed to earn $7 million. Now, it is believed his base salary will be half of that after a disappointing season for Free in 2012. Free cashed in with a $32 million, four-year contract in 2011, a deal that included $17 million guaranteed. He has started 48 consecutive games for the club and now rumors about the team pursuing veteran options at right tackle will subside. Source: National Football Post
