Nobody expected Victor Cruz to show up for the Giants' OTA workout on Wednesday. That Hakeem Nicks also didn't show up, however, was a much larger surprise. Nicks, who was in Manhattan just a night earlier, was nowhere to be found at the Giants facility on Wednesday, a concerning absence. Cruz is embroiled in an ongoing contract dispute with the Giants, so few expected him to work with the team. But Giants coach Tom Coughlin had been expecting Nicks to attend. "I don't know," Coughlin said after the session. "He should be here."

Word is that he's unhappy with his current deal...

He really showed no sign that he was unhappy with his current deal, and honestly with how riddled with injuries he was last year on what grounds does he think he deserves a new one? I don't even understand on what grounds Cruz all of a sudden thinks he's worth 11m, he is certainly worth more than we were paying him but my idea for Cruz is give him a contract laden with incentives, a kind of pay for play mentality, you get 1000 yards recieving you get this much as a bonus, you get 100+ receptions you get this much you get double digit TDs you get this much, all of that with a base salary of like 7m, that way he's still not getting underpaid but he also has all of that money waiting for him if he does perform up to his "11m worth."
