Washington HC Mike Shanahan Says RG3 Could Be One The Best QBs Of All Time The esteemed John Madden opined after the Washington Redskins' 2012 season-opening upset of the New Orleans Saints that Robert Griffin III was "the best player in the league in Week 1." Griffin went on to take home NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors, proving Madden's prescience. Despite Griffin's surgically repaired knee, the Redskins believe the best might be yet to come. "If Robert plays like he did (in 2012) the rest of his career," coach Mike Shanahan told NFL.com's Albert Breer on Thursday, "he'll go down as one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game." Shanahan: RG3 can be one of best QBs in NFL history - NFL.com
Well..yeah. But defenses adjust once they know more about you. He's quite the talent, but let's not put him in the HOF just yet.
I still wonder how that repaired knee is going to hold up, especially when it takes a hit. RG3 has some skills, no doubt but he needs to be smarter and stop trying to prove how tough he is. If he doesn't, Im expecting him to make it 5 years max.
If shanahan and his son don't kill him is what he should have said.there is no way he lasts the season running like he did last year!
RG3 is a good QB but let's give him a few more years in the league before saying he could be " one of the best " aight Shanahan.
If Scott Mitchell had played every year like he did in 1995 he would have been one of the best ever too.
