Dez Bryant said last week that the presence of positive role models have played a role in his newly tranquil personal life.

Does Michael Jordan count as one of them?

The Dallas Cowboys wide receiver met the hoops legend at Jordan's birthday party during the NBA All-Star Weekend in Houston. Bryant -- who recently signed a three-year deal with the Jordan Brand -- said the former Chicago Bulls star offered him a succinct bit of advice.

"The only thing he told me was 'stay out of trouble,' " Bryant said Tuesday, according to ESPNDallas.com. "Hearing it come from him ... He is a strong voice. His opinion matters."

As a gesture of responsibility, Bryant has opted not to touch any of his first-year salary from the Jordan Brand.

Dez seems to be maturing hasn't had any incidents in a while, kind of a shame it took the best basketball player of all time telling him to stay out of trouble to get through to him.

Not sure I'd be taking tips from Jordan when it comes to managing my life.

Still Jordan has had a very low amount of drama in his career compared to Bryant.

But different era. The press, especially ChiTown, treated him with kid gloves. They knew to attack him would put them on the bread line in a heart beat.

Nowadays, digging up dirt makes careers...

Yeah you're right. Jordan played before twitter and all that stuff so you got a good point there.

He'd probably be better at that than Jordan at least.
