There are certain NFL players teams simply cannot live without, players who are truly indispensable. Merriam-Webster's dictionary defines indispensable as "absolutely necessary" or "essential," and "not subject to being set aside or neglected." So we accepted the challenge from the NFL.com office to find the nine most indispensable players on offense in the league. (Yes, I'll also provide my most indispensable defensive players in the coming days.) But there's a catch: We are going to exclude the quarterback position. These guys get all the credit (and blame) for everything, even if it isn't totally warranted (both the positive and the negative). Source: NFL.com 1) Adrian Peterson, RB Vikings 2) Brandon Marshall, WR Bears 3) Duane Brown, LT Texans 4) Maurice Jones-Drew, RB Jaguars 5) Vernon Davis, TE 49ers 6) Tony Gonzalez, TE Falcons 7) Joe Thomas, LT Browns 8) Calvin Johnson, WR Detroit 9) Doug Martin, RB Buccaneers
Once Justin Smith went out with injury, a lot of havoc happened to SF defense at the end of the year and in the playoffs. So he'd be a guy who I would think would be sorely missed if he went down again
To soon to realize that Wes Welker should be on that list for New England? Agree Matt Firte should be on there.
Speaking about #1 , right now....I'd say Aaron Rodgers. Packers go from contenders to chumps pretty quick without him. Losing him could cripple their season. Drew Brees has to be a close #2 .
no qb list but i agree the packers and saints would be in big trouble without their gun slingers but as far as this list i think te tony g is great but he also has had a running game and some decent wide outs so i tihnk he is replaceable calvin johnson should be atleast number two he catches so many ducks and gets so many yards and yac its unreal
DOH! I missed the last part of that with no QB's. Well with that now pointed out to this my dumb ass, I would have to agree with AP. Ponder's not quite there yet and the jury is out on if he'll ever take the next step. Peterson is the catalyst for that team and losing him would make their offense Jaguar-esque.
