A pit bull belonging to Eagles running back Bryce Brown -- along with the dog's seven puppies -- are being returned to Brown after they were seized in May from an alleged illegal dog-breeding operation in Fall Creek, Wis., that was also suspected of fighting the dogs.

Joseph Sudbrink, who runs Northland Pits, was arrested Friday on preliminary charges of mistreating animals and operating as a dog breeder without a license, the district attorney's office told the Leader-Telegram. Brown doesn't have ties to the alleged operation.

More from the Telegram: "In a petition he filed May 28 seeking the return of the dogs, Sudbrink said he thinks the animals were removed because Bekah Weitz, the humane officer for the Eau Claire County Humane Association, believed they were fighting dogs."

Brown purchased the pit bull, Ellis, in 2010 and sent her to Northland Pits for stud services in February, according to the Leader-Telegram. Ellis and the puppies were seized along with 19 other dogs when a search warrant was executed on May 21.

Yeah makes it sound like he was involved in some way, although, maybe Vick told him to send the dog there.

So did the dog tell authorities that he wasn't fighting and just there to bang some snitches...therefore could be returned to his owner?

i guess it's similar to the thrill people get watching humans beat the crap out of each other (in MMA or any other venue)?

it's just violence and a lot of people like violence?

I have 2 Pit Bulls, great dogs. Very protective dogs. Very loving. To everybody that doesn't like Pit Bulls: Piss off. They are fantastic as long as you raise them with love

Friend of mine had one and she was a big lap dog. Always crawled her big shelf into my lap wanting attention. And she did that the first time I saw her. But she sure didn't like other dogs at all. With that said I don't think they are for everyone and a lot of people who do have them shouldn't. Not a bad dog, bad owners.

Yea I know a couple people with pits. They really get a bad rap. If the dog is raised right, it will be a good dog.

yep, the owner determines what the dog's behavior will be. pit bulls were simply bred as working dogs and companions. it's just certain people that train them to fight.

Raising a dog is kind of like raising a child in the sense that if you raise either one to be a certain way, they will turn out that way more likely than not

I've got a pit/boxer mix that is by far the best dog I've ever had. Happy and goofy as crap all the time, loves people, kids, every other dog he's ever met, never shown any aggression in any fashion unless cats or deer are involved and even then all he wants to do is chase them. Other dogs try to attack him and he just thinks it's the best game ever. He really changed the way I think about pits to be honest.

I have a pit/black lab mix that I've had for 11 years. Best dog ever. Has never bitten anybody. The only animals I've ever seen her attack, was a Heron and Squirrels. Dog will lick you to death before she bites you.

Now I do have a Louisiana Cur/Pit mix, she is extremely protective. Does not trust anybody unless you introduce her to them. She bit one person, and he broke into our house.

That is true with any dog.i got a full blooded pitbull, would not hurt a fly unless you came in our house trying to rob it,then she would chase you out of the house asap.best dog i have ever had, just like having another kid around.when she does something bad,she drops her ears and goes in her cage.the only problem we have with her is chewing things up,but i can't imagine our home without her.she sleeps with my son,and loves him to death!
