Dwight Howard spent Saturday hanging out at the Major League Gaming Spring Championship -- a video game convention in Anaheim, Calif. -- on the day before kicking off what promises to be one of the most important stretches of his professional life. As Howard embarks on a whirlwind free agency process that will feature sit-down sessions with at least five teams, his main priority, according to a source close to the nine-year veteran, is finding a destination that will help him win a championship of a different sort. After feeling the shine of the Finals stage four years ago, Howard desperately wants to get back to the pinnacle with a team that will not only deliver him his first title, but put him in a situation to lift the Larry O'Brien trophy at the end of the season on multiple occasions. The Houston Rockets will be first up Sunday night, followed by the Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors and Atlanta Hawks in some order, and ending with the Los Angeles Lakers, at the Lakers' request. There is a rumor floating around that Boston, Houston, and Sacramento have trade ready to go if Howard signs with Houston. It would send Asik, Jimmer, and Terrance Jones to Boston, Jeremy Lin to Sacramento, and Rondo to Houston. That's not the full trade, but this whole thing would be contingent on Howard committing to Houston
There was a time where I wanted to see Dwight Howard in a Bulls uniform. That time is gone....Can't handle being in a big media market and can't handle being second fiddle on a team.
Yep, supposedly Howard was asking the rockets during his meeting who the 3rd big guy would be that they bring in if he joins them. Rondo would make sense. He is definitely on the market
1. I bet he goes to the Rockets. They're younger and deeper than the Mavs. 2. Texas has no state income tax. If he re-signs with the LAL, or signs with the LAC, he's going to have to give some of that contract back. 3. I'm also hearing that the Mavs want Rondo, and will pursue him heavily if they can't get Howard.
He's showing that he's of the mindset that he can't carry a team and be the man. Unbelievable talent that's mentally 180 degrees from Michael Jordan.
At this stage, he's more the Chris Bosch of a big 3 & should just sit back & wait for some big 2 to ask him to join. Sure isn't the centerpiece...
Maybe on his potential but his reality of immaturity & pouting thru big games tell a different box score.
Somebody who averages 17-12-2 isn't a #3. Just cause you don't like his demeanor, doesn't mean he's not a #2 type guy.
