The Pittsburgh Penguins and star defenseman Kris Letang were close to agreeing on an eight-year, $58 million contract extension Sunday just before the NHL entry draft, sources told ESPN.com. Letang's agent Kent Hughes and Penguins general manager Ray Shero still had to convene at the Prudential Center where the draft is being hosted to iron out the final details, sources said. "The deal is not done yet, we are still working on it," a Penguins source told ESPN.com. But unless there are unforeseen, last-minute obstacles, it will be an eight-year extension paying him on average $7.25 million a year and containing a limited no-trade clause. Source: ESPN
I really like LeTang but I was not too happy with his payoff performance against the Bruins. His head didn't seem to be in the games. Made some really costly defensive mistakes. IMO
Not really. :) Was really disappointed in the lack of adjustments from period to period and game to game. They still managed to have a good deal of shots on goal. Also a lot of shots hitting the post. Chicago had a difficult time with Boston the first 3 games and Toews was looking very frustrated. However they were able to make the adjustments the Pens did not.
The Pens were overrated last season due to the fact that nobody wanted to play D. All Boston had to do was shut them down on O, because Pitt wasn't going to try and stop them. Especially Cindy
