Greg Oden will likely choose from a group of suitors that includes the San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics and Memphis Grizzlies, a source close to Oden told ESPN.com.

A source close to Oden told ESPN's J.A. Adande that the Cavaliers and Spurs appear to be the best fits at this time.

Oden, 25, has battled numerous knee injuries and hasn't played in an NBA game since Dec. 5, 2009. He is coming off his third microfracture knee surgery in February 2012.

Oden was the top overall pick in the 2007 NBA draft out of Ohio State, chosen by the Portland Trail Blazers one spot ahead of Kevin Durant.

I think all 30 teams should stay far FAR away from Oden. He's got glass knees.

can an nba team pay him a minimum salary (i think a little over a million) and just take the chance that he can stay somewhat healthy for a season?

The key word in that post is "POTENTIAL" which I will not deny that he does have but his knees have proven time and time again that they will not cooperate. I don't ever see him living up to his potential. :icon_rolleyes:

If Marc Stein of ESPN can be believed, he tweeted last night that the Mavs reached out to Oden before the Mavs turned down Bynum.

Does it really matter where he signs? Not like he's going to play.
