The Dallas Cowboys' medical staff has cleared quarterback Tony Romo to begin practicing when training camp starts on Sunday, Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas reports. This according to sources.

Romo underwent minor surgery to have a non-cancerous cyst removed from his back in April. The surgery prevented Romo from participating in offseason workouts other than some light throwing in walk-through practices.

Romo and team officials have said he wasn't practicing as more of a precaution.

"I feel a lot better," Romo said in May when asked about the surgery. "It was something that was there a little bit, kind of annoying. I'd rather feel 100 percent here. Hopefully I'll be back for minicamp and be ready to go, but we're just being smart now for the next couple of weeks."

Look at Romo's stats, JEM. You sure you wouldn't like him over Freeman?

No. I'd rather have a complete failure than somebody with "performance issues"

All kidding aside, I would rather have the complete failure over the clutch failure. You can try to tell me he's clutch, but I'm going to point you in the direction of the botched snap (Seattle), 44-6 (Philly), 34-3 (Minny), 20-7 (Philly) + 31-14 (NYG), and 34-31 (NO) + 28-18 (Wash). Rather have the broken down car over the car with no brakes.

When was the last time the Bucs won a playoff game? 02? Against SF?

Ah..No. 2003 against Oakland. In the Super Bowl. Talk about a misfire

And when is the last time you were even in a Super Bowl? It's a rhetorical question. When's the last time you guys won 10 games in a season? We might not have made the playoffs that year (2010), but it says something that we win 10 games, and don't make the playoffs while winning 9 wins gets you the division in the NFC East.

The cowboys only have 1 more playoff win than the bucs since that super bowl.

The Bucs are 0-2 in the playoffs since the Super Bowl win. The Cowboys, 1-4. Hmmm...

if you'd rather be 0-2 than 1-4 then looooooooooool

Again, I'd rather have the complete failure over the team that gets my hopes up, just to destroy them with their unclutchness

Romo is much better than Freeman.

What's your point? Romo would never bring us a SB and just wind up being torture

You know it's true. How many NFCCG games has Romo played in?
