Dallas Cowboys defensive end Tyrone Crawford suffered a season-ending Achilles’ tendon injury on Sunday, Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said late Sunday that Crawford will miss the season after he went down on his own in a noncontact drill and was carted off the field Sunday during the first practice. The Cowboys are awaiting an MRI exam on Ratliff. “I was actually watching it,†team vice president Stephen Jones said. “Any time a guy falls like that in a noncontract drill, it’s not good news. It’s disappointing. Crawford is our top young defensive lineman.†Crawford was expected to be the primary run-stopping backup at strongside end behind starter Anthony Spencer, who was held out of work on Sunday because of a lingering knee issue from minicamp. Floyd didn't fit what our defensive staff wanted. He would have been a huge bust here Sent from my HTC Vivid
Floyd isnt quick enough or a good enough pass rusher to be a good NFL 3 Tech. He'll be a good player in Minnesota if they play him over the ball. In Kiffens/Marinellis scheme, both DT's are pass rushers. Both are basically 3 Techs. A guy with 2 sacks in his college career doesnt fit, and wont make an impact in this scheme. If they picked a DT at that pick, Sly Williams would have been a much better pick
What? Do you remember Monte's previous NFL team? Anthony "Booger" McFarland was not a pass rusher. Floyd was great against the run at UF. Monte and Marinelli's best years in Tampa were surround by Simeon and Sapp rushing the passer with Spires and McFarland being stout against the run
McFarland was still a one gap player. Floyd is not. McFarland on most NFL teams would have been a 3 Tech. He played 1 Tech in Tampa because they dont use a two gap scheme
