Instead of patrolling defenses at middle linebacker for the Chicago Bears, retired defensive icon Brian Urlacher will be hitting the airwaves.

Urlacher has joined FOX Sports 1 as an NFL analyst, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Urlacher will appear alongside Jay Glazer, Curt Menefee and Ronde Barber on FOX Football Daily starting Aug. 19.

Urlacher retired after a contract dispute with the Bears and eschewed interest from other NFL teams.

I knew Urlacher would be doing something this season whether it be working for FOX, CBS, ESPN, NFL Network or get into coaching. I'm not sure whether I should be excited about this news or not. I do think Urlacher would make a good LB coach though.

Another potential Sapp/Irwin 'analyst' Hope it's not but they seem to go for the ratings by picking fabricators as opposed to break down specialists.

I'm sure he'll do a good job on tv but he seems to be the type to be out on the field as a coach idk.
